Okay, can I just ramble about this for a moment? Because I feel like this teeny little snippet of a scene is SO important.
Look how gentle Natasha is with Clint’s kid. She’s an assassin who was trained to care about nothing but her mission. I very much doubt she spent much time drawing pictures when she was a kid, and she probably would’ve been scolded or dismissed if she’d tried to show them to people.
And somehow, she’s broken through all that cold indifference she was supposed to have. She breaks her attention away from what’s going on to acknowledge Lila (I think it’s Lila?) and then she PRAISES her for it, and so sweetly too.
I’m probably making way too much of a big deal out of this, but I think it’s incredible how much she managed to grow as a person, and move away from what the Red Room made her into, even in the profession she maintains. Natasha is so damn strong.
….You realize, of course, that Hermione Granger lit a teacher on fire when she was eleven, and kept a person alive in a jar for a year when she was fourteen, and studies dark and forbidden magics for kicks, and is one of the brightest and strongest witches of her era. If she came at me, even wandless, I would aparate to Neptune to get away from her.
Hermione Granger also:
punched Draco Malfoy in the nose for being an idiot
purposefully performed a confundus charm on whatshsface WHILE HE WAS FLYING just so Ron would win (omfg that is so fucking dangerous)
literally pulled a fucking Bourne Identity on her parents and managed to set them up in fucking Australia (jesus christ she literally made it so that she NEVER EXISTED wtf that’s so fucking 007)
Convinced the Ministry of Magic to give her an incredibly dangerous and volatile device that allowed her to ALTER TIMELINES COMPLETELY (just because she was so smart, literally, that is the reason, her “potential”)
Has enough basic survival skills and badass magic to literally disappear to the middle of nowhere and flourish AND figure out Voldemort’s plot with Harry
Hermione also figures out not only what Voldemort’s plan is, but generally how to beat it, WAY BEFORE VOLDEMORT EVER DOES. Why? because she is just that much smarter and better at magic than everybody else
in conclusion: Voldemort wishes he could be as awesome as Hermione, that’s why he wants to kill her so bad.

If you heard of writer’s block, get ready for reader’s block. You want to read. You have time. You know what to read; how have a pile of books ready to be read. You cannot sit still and focus enough to do so or you can’t even open the book.
Kara wonders, for someone who’s incredibly smart, Lena sure does like committing stupid things like jumping off a cliff and organising a fake press conference just to lure out bad guys.
So. darn. stupid.
Kara lets out a heavy sigh as she rakes her shaky fingers through her hair. The adrenaline from saving Lena still runs high within her and it is mixed with such furiousness that Kara can only recall feeling when Alex was kidnapped by their old schoolmate.
‘Are you okay?’
Kara turns and angry tears starts to pool in her eyes as she meets Lena’s concerned stare.
‘Fine,’ Kara answers through her gritted teeth.
Lena raised an eyebrow at her, almost daringly and it ticks Kara off at how casual Lena is about this. About almost being assassinated and is nowhere safe that Kara has to fly them both to the Fortress of Solitude, which is where they are now. She had imagine it many times, of bringing Lena here, showing Lena about her culture, about Krypton. But this isn’t how it should be. Not under this circumstance.
‘Thank you for saving me,’ Lena tells with a proud smile. ‘I knew you would.’
And just like that, the rage that Kara tried so hard to contain bursts out of her.
‘You’re an idiot,’ Kara tells, her voice trembling while she keeps her fists to her sides, clenching them so tightly that it’s starting to hurt.
‘Excuse me?’
Kara ignores the frown on Lena’s face. She looks slightly insulted and hurt but Kara is still too angry and still feeling deathly terrified. 'You can’t just jump off a cliff like that, Lena. What if I wasn’t fast enough? What if I didn’t make it in time?’
‘You were. And you saved me. It doesn’t matter now.’
'Of course it matters!’ Lena flinches at Kara’s raised voice. 'This your life we’re talking about!’
Lena stares at her and there’s something in her eyes that dissipates Kara’s anger as quickly as it came when she figures out what it is. Fear.
It takes a second for her to realise that her eyes are glowing. Kara shakes her head and stumbles back, feeling ashamed that she had let anger took over her, that she had made Lena feel afraid of her. Of all things.
Rao, she’s an idiot.
'Im sorry. I didn’t mean–’ Kara shuts her mouth, hangs her head low as she presses her lips into a thin line. There’s no going back now from this and an apology wouldn’t be enough. How can she ever expect Lena to feel safe with her again.
But this is Lena. Kind Lena who made her an exo suit that helped keep her safe even when they weren’t in good terms, sweet Lena who brought her flowers and potstickers when she had a rough day at work. Her Lena.
So, she should’ve expected the gentle hand on her shoulder, green eyes on her that are so warm that it make the fortress feels less cold.
'You did save me, Kara. I am alright,’ Lena tells. Her hand on Kara’s shoulder moves up to Kara’s cheek, cradling her face so gently that it breaks Kara into tears.
'I can’t lose you, Lena.’
Lena smiles softly, her thumb wiping away the tears on Kara’s cheek. 'You won’t. If I fall, I have no doubt that you will always be there to catch me.’
Kara wants to believe it, that she can always save Lena but there’s always this fear of her slipping up, of not being fast enough to save the ones that she loves. But she let it go for now. Lena’s gentleness has a way of always making her feel calm.
She leans further into Lena’s touch, turning her head as her lips brush Lena’s cold palm. Lena shivers and Kara frowns at the thought of Lena feeling cold. So, she wraps an arm around the youngest Luthor and pulls her close and as soon as Lena is in Kara’s embrace, she melts against her, sighing blissfully against Kara’s bare neck.
Kara presses her cheek against Lena’s hair, her lips curving into a soft smile. 'You have too much faith in me.’
